Pro Helvetia - Global commitment

Pro Helvetia is Switzerland’s foremost institution for the distribution and promotion of Swiss culture abroad. It commits around two thirds of its funds to making Swiss culture more widely known beyond the country’s borders.

A significant proportion of this goes to projects whose artists or organisers have applied for financial assistance.

Pro Helvetia also actively promotes cultural exchange. Together with local partners and Switzerland’s diplomatic representations, Pro Helvetia is responsible for supporting Switzerland’s culture throughout the world and for encouraging the process of cultural exchange.

A network of liaison offices and partner institutes enable artists from Switzerland to gain access to other cultural arenas.

The liaison offices seek to develop regional contacts and nurture long-term partnerships with event organisers. Furthermore, they act as Switzerland’s first point of contact for many foreign artists and cultural producers.
