Dance Platform 2010
From 8 to 14 March, dance practitioners in New Delhi are looking into ways of defining contemporary dance. Dancers and choreographers from Switzerland, Germany and India have been invited to the Indian metropolis for a creative exchange of ideas.
The event was launched on 8 March with a seminar on current theory and practice of performing arts conducted by Sadanand Menon, an Indian culture theorist.
Two four-day workshops form the heart of Dance Platform 2010. Under the guidance of choreographers Eszter Salamon, originally from Hungary, and Philippe Saire from Lausanne, participants can themselves explore various forms of dance and movement.
On 14 March, the results of the two workshops will be presented in the form of a work-in-progress performance. Dance Platform 2010 was initiated by Pro Helvetia New Delhi and Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan.
