With its Collection Cahiers d’Artistes series, Pro Helvetia supports promising Swiss visual artists who do not yet have their own publication. This promotional instrument has been in existence since 1997 and is especially appreciated by museums and curators in Switzerland and abroad.

This year’s Collection Cahiers d’Artistes will be presented from 14 to 19 June 2011 at the Swiss Art Awards parallel to Art 42 Basel.

Since 2006, the Cahiers d’Artistes have been published by Edizioni Periferia, Lucerne/Poschiavo. Edition: 1200 copies, 300 for the artists, 500 for selected art institutions and cultural actors at home and abroad, 400 for bookshops.

Pro Helvetia has decided to reposition its promotional tool Cahiers d’Artistes, a visual arts monograph series, in connection with the entry into force of Switzerland’s new Arts and Culture Promotion Act on 1 January 2012. This means that the Swiss Arts Council is not launching a call for applications in 2011. The next search for candidates for a new Cahiers d’Artistes collection will take place in 2012, and the associated series XI will be published in 2013.
